AOE RULZ!!!

AGE OF EMPIRES (AOE) IS BACK WITH A BANG. SOME WOULD SAY WITH TOO MUCH OF A BANG WITH CHANCES OF IT BLOWING OUT OF PROPORTION. THE EARLY DAYS OF THE GAME SAW A SELECT FEW (THE ELITE IF I MAY SAY SO MYSELF) PRACTISING THE FINE ART OF AOE AND FOLLOWING ITS NUANCES TO ITS MINUTEST DETAILS.
THING HAVE CHANGED NOW, YOU CAN NOW SEE EVERY TOM, MUNDI AND HARRY PLAYING NOW A DAYS.
THIS SERIOUS OVERCROWDING OF THE EMPIRE IS SURE TO HAVE ITS REPURCUSSIONS... NAMELY, DELETION OF THE GAME FROM THE TERMINALS, PERMANENT CLOSURE OF LAN BESIDES OTHERS, THIS CAN ALSO LEAD TO THE SCRAPPING OF PLANS TO CONNECT THE HOSTELS WITH LOCAL AREA NETWORK.
THE NEED OF THE HOUR IS TO BE MORE DISCREET... THE YOUNG BRIGADE WOULD BE BETTER ADVISED TO FIRST LEARN THE GAME IN THEIR HOSTEL ROOMS AND THEN COME TO THE ARENA.
AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT ... WATCH FOR CYCLOPS, ASHOKA, ALEXENDER... THEIR GAME IS A TREAT TO WATCH.

UP YOURS!!!

THE COLLEGE HAS AGAIN TRIED ONE OF THEIR SMART ACTS. CAN YOU BEAT THAT, THEY HAVE BLOCKED BLOGSPOT.

HEY LAST I HEARD BLOG WAS NEITHER PORN NOR DESTRUCTIVE IN ANY MANNER. ITS JUST AN E- JOURNAL. BUT ITS KIND OF DIFFICULT TO MAKE IDIOTS UNDERSTAND.

I HAVE ONLY THIS TO SAY... THE BLOG SHALL CARRY ON, U CAN SAY WHATEVER U WANNA SAY, U CAN DO WHATEVER U WANNA DO, BUT U CAN'T TAKE AWAY OUR FREEDOM OF FREE SPEECH...

MANGAL & SEHAR

Had the opportunity of watching two very good movies this weekend.
The first one was Mangal Pandey - The Rising. Every Indian knows who Mangal Pandey was and how his act of killing British Officers is said to have signalled the start of the revolt of 1857. The movie can be said to be historically accurate as not much is known of Mangal Pandey, however, the makers of the movie more than make up for this lacuna by the brilliance of sets and costumes and the attention given to detail of costumes, customs, besides other important things.
HT gave it a four star rating ... I would definitely consider it a one time watch.

Another good movie is Sehar... a good cop drama comes out after some time, the movie is definitely in league with other contemporary Cop movies like Gangajal and that Manoj Bajpai movie (I forget the name) that came out some time back.

The movie is loosely based on real incidents that took place in UP sometime back. The plot is about Mafia of the Cowland being effectively neutrilised by Motivated and Dedicated Cops.
A must watch.

BORED

College has started in full flow. The same old boring classes. Although the subjects are pretty challenging (Business and Financial Laws Group) is no piece of cake. This Semester a new (not favourable) change has taken place, a couple of times a week, we have classes at 0830hrs. This means loose some precious sleep and get up early.

Not something I necessarily like. Just waiting for something fun and exciting to happen. Till then its just friends and fags and books.

THE GLASS PALACE

Another Great Book from the stables of Amitav Ghosh. The Book takes you back into the times of the occupation of Burma by the British.
The book revolves around the fate of an orphan Bengali boy who lands up in Burma and by his sheer hard work, cunning and shrewdness makes a mark for himself.
The Book has an interesting genere as it revolves in two parallel fronts, one moving along the adventures of the young boy and the other dealing with the trials and tribulations of the exhiled royal family of Burma and their young maid.
The story in the end takes a somber turn (like all of Ghosh's novels), when the book starts to deal with the part with the Japanese invade the territory of Burma. How the family breaks up and flees and all that is left is the old man (a distant memory of what he was as a young boy) and his infant grand daughter.
Ghosh is an expert at vividly describing the scenes and scennarios which he himself at times might have not experienced.
His descriptions of the logging camps in the mountains and the plantaion manor houses is exquisite.

Nothing back

Well back at college, nothing new. Same old same old... Sem results out... so I am finally a graduate, but screwed the results nice and proper.
College life is pretty boring except for Priya who is the only silver lining. Without her this place is so drab and dreary, with most of my friends gone.
Anyways life goes on...
